BOOM! Studios’ BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT: Time-Bending Thrills

BOOM! Studios' BLINK AND YOU'LL MISS IT: Time-Bending Thrills

A fresh, mind-bending mystery is set to captivate readers this summer from BOOM! Studios. Writers Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan (known for Kill Your Darlings) team up with debut artist Keith Browning and colorist Brad Simpson to bring us BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT. This exciting new series promises to deliver a unique blend of romance, mystery, and temporal displacement.

Griffin Sheridan, co-writer, shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Making BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT has been an exciting, occasionally elusive, and overall, very special experience.” He emphasized the collaborative nature of the creation, praising Keith Browning’s “insane” pages and Brad Simpson’s “immense talents.” This dynamic team, working with master editor Jon Moisan, aims to create something truly distinct in the comic landscape. For more exciting new comic releases, including various striking comic book covers, you can always visit the official Comic Book Addicts website.

The story of BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT centers on Melody Nelson and Jesse Harmon, who fell in love in the quaint town of Perennial Harbor. Years later, Jesse discovers that Perennial Harbor has become a nightmare. Her best friend, Melody, is trapped there, and the very fabric of reality is unraveling around her, sending her further back in time with each passing day. Jesse’s race to save Melody proves futile as Melody’s journey through the past might either reveal the secret to her terrible curse or serve as a eulogy before she vanishes from existence entirely.

Ethan S. Parker, also a co-writer, described the series as “bizarre and dreamlike,” yet “painfully romantic.” He revealed that he and Griffin delved into the “most nerve-wracking territory” of their minds to create something deeply personal. “Thanks to Keith, Brad, Jon, and every other amazing talent that has contributed their art to this collective, we’ve made another comic book that represents what we want to see on the stands,” Parker added, inviting readers to “slip back in time with us. You might be surprised what you find.”

Artist Keith Browning shared his perspective, noting that the outline for BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT immediately highlighted the narrative’s focus on its characters. While the series certainly features “looming mystery, fun action, and kooky visuals,” Browning emphasized that “the people really are the heart of this story.” He expressed his enjoyment of the privilege of “acting” through these characters, bringing their emotions and struggles to life on the page.

BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT #1 will showcase a main cover by series artist Keith Browning, with variant covers by acclaimed illustrators Christian Ward (Batman: City of Madness), Rebeca Puebla (Dejah Thoris), and Elsa Charretier (Star Wars Adventures). This exciting new title is part of BOOM!
